DBT Skills Groups

About Our Groups:

Are you struggling with intense emotions, impulsive behaviours, or difficulty maintaining healthy relationships? Our Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Skills Groups offer a structured, supportive environment to learn practical tools for managing these challenges and for creating a life worth living.

What is DBT?

DBT is a type of behavioural therapy that focuses on teaching skills to help individuals:

  • Regulate Emotions: Learn to identify, understand, and manage intense emotional experiences.

  • Improve Interpersonal Effectiveness: Develop skills for building and maintaining healthy relationships, setting boundaries, and communicating effectively.

  • Practice Mindfulness: Cultivate present-moment awareness and acceptance to reduce reactivity and increase peace of mind.

  • Tolerate Distress: Learn strategies to cope with difficult situations and emotions without resorting to harmful behaviours.

Our groups provide a comprehensive learning experience, covering the four core modules of DBT:

  • Mindfulness: Learning to be present and non-judgmental.

  • Distress Tolerance: Coping with crises and difficult emotions.

  • Emotion Regulation: Changing unwanted emotions.

  • Interpersonal Effectiveness: Improving relationships.

Group Formats:

  • Standard Intermediate DBT Skills Group:

    • This group meets weekly for approximately 48 sessions.
